What does this operation involve?

A 360° body and buttock lift treats the lower torso as a continuous circumference rather than the abdomen in isolation. Skin and tissue are removed from the front, sides and lower back; the posterior lift can also elevate and reshape lax tissue around the buttocks. The pattern is tailored to the areas of greatest laxity. It is a more extensive operation requiring careful selection, preparation and recovery planning.

01

When it may be considered

  • Circumferential skin excess, often following major weight loss
  • Laxity affecting the abdomen, flanks, lower back and buttocks
  • Patients fit for a longer operation and prepared for a more involved recovery
02

Your operation

  • A circumferential scar planned around the lower torso
  • Coordinated reshaping of the abdomen, flanks, lower back and buttocks
  • Staging or additional procedures may be advised when this offers a safer plan
03

Recovery and aftercare

  • Early mobilisation and an individual thrombosis-prevention plan are essential
  • Assistance at home is usually required during the early recovery period
  • Swelling, wound care and activity progression are monitored closely at follow-up

Designed around your anatomy.

The distribution of skin and tissue excess, abdominal-wall strength, previous scars, weight change, general health and the outcome you hope to achieve are assessed together.

You will receive a clear explanation of the proposed scar, whether muscle repair or liposuction may be appropriate, material risks, alternatives and the expected recovery before deciding how to proceed.

Useful information

01Is this the same as an extended abdominoplasty?+

No. An extended abdominoplasty reaches further towards the flanks; a 360° body and buttock lift continues around the lower back and can lift lax buttock tissue.

02Does the procedure add volume to the buttocks?+

The primary aim is to lift and reshape lax tissue rather than create a guaranteed increase in volume. The likely effect depends on your anatomy and the operative plan discussed at consultation.

03Can other procedures be combined with it?+

Sometimes, but safety and operative duration take priority. Staged surgery may be the better option.

04How long is the scar?+

The scar is circumferential. Its level and shape are planned around anatomy, tissue excess and clothing preferences.

This information is general and does not replace an individual consultation. The most appropriate operation, scar pattern and recovery plan depend on your anatomy, health and personal circumstances. Results cannot be guaranteed.
