Where reconstructive precision meets aesthetic judgement.

Mr Arvind Mohan, Consultant Plastic, Reconstructive and Cosmetic Surgeon

Mr Arvind Mohan is a UK-trained, GMC-certified Consultant Plastic, Reconstructive and Cosmetic Surgeon with both NHS and private practice roles.

He holds a full-time Consultant appointment at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England.

Mr Mohan graduated from the University of Nottingham Medical School, where he also completed an intercalated Bachelor of Medical Sciences degree. He subsequently obtained an MSc in Medical Leadership from Birkbeck, University of London.

After gaining experience in plastic surgery units across the UK, he was selected for specialist training on the Pan London Plastic Surgery programme. His training included rotations through some of the country’s busiest and most prestigious centres:

  • The Royal London Hospital, Barts Health NHS Trust
  • Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust
  • Chelsea and Westminster Hospital
  • St Mary’s Hospital, Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust

He subsequently completed a microsurgical fellowship in breast reconstruction and was selected for The London Clinic Cosmetic Surgery Fellowship before taking up his Consultant post.

“Combining the functional and aesthetic aspects of surgery to optimise both form and function.”

Mr Mohan is one of the few cosmetic surgeons in London who also specialises in major trauma and complex extremity reconstruction. This experience brings an unusually detailed understanding of anatomy, tissue behaviour and healing to every body-contouring procedure.

01

Body contouring

Mr Mohan specialises in body-contouring surgery of the abdomen—including mini, full, extended and fleur-de-lis abdominoplasty—the arms through brachioplasty, and the lower limbs through thigh lifting, contour correction and limb implants.

Advanced liposuction and fat-transfer techniques are incorporated where appropriate, particularly for patients with complex contour irregularities.

02

Reconstructive surgery

His NHS practice encompasses acute and elective hand surgery and complex microsurgical soft-tissue reconstruction following major trauma, orthopaedic, spinal and vascular surgery.

He has particular interests in diabetic foot reconstruction, chronic wound restoration, and functional and aesthetic reconstruction using superthin and ultra-low-profile free tissue transfer and supermicrosurgery.

Advancing the specialty

Mr Mohan has published widely in the medical literature, with more than 50 authorships and presentations at national and international conferences. He has served as a reviewer for the Journal of Plastic, Reconstructive & Aesthetic Surgery and is regularly invited to speak at national meetings and training courses.

Passionate about developing the next generation of doctors, he is Training Programme Director for Foundation Year 2 trainees at St Mary’s Hospital. He is also an examiner on the Trust FRCS (Plast) course and an educational supervisor to multiple trainees at Imperial.
